The location is excellent, with views over gentle hills stretching to Volterra, about 4 km away. Everything is very clean, the kitchen is new and very well-equipped. Highlights include the private, heated infinity pool and the large, fenced property with numerous olive trees. High feel-good factor amidst nature!

Absolute perfection! We were blown away by Aurélie's place. The house is set within stunning countryside, very quiet and private, yet only a short drive from lovely Volterra. Aurélie was extremely welcoming and helpful, providing lots of information on the local area.

Who We Are

We are Gordian & Aurélie, a German–French couple. One of us grew up in Provence among olive groves and sunshine, the other among the hills of Swabia. Tuscany felt like a natural meeting point between both worlds.

Falling in Love with Tuscany

We fell in love with this corner of Italy for its beautiful nature, rich history and generous people. Restoring the podere became a family project, shaped with care and a deep respect for its original character. Today, we are delighted to share it with guests from around the world.

A House with a Story

Our home, Podere Santa Renata, was built in the 1960s by local farmers. Rooted in a tradition of living close to the land, today we carry that spirit forward as a place to welcome people, slow down, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside.

The Meaning of the Name

“Podere” is the traditional Tuscan word for a country estate or farmhouse with its surrounding land. Santa Renata recalls Renata of Lorraine, Duchess of Bavaria (1544–1602), known for her kindness and generosity — a meaningful connection between our family and this place.

WHERE YOU WILL STAY

The house is arranged over two floors: the ground floor and first floor, connected by an outdoor staircase.

For 2–6 guests, the ground floor offers everything you need for a comfortable stay.
For 5–10 guests, both floors can be rented together, offering additional bedrooms and living space.

Whichever option you choose, the property is exclusively yours. When only the ground floor is rented, the first floor remains unoccupied — you will never share the house, garden or pool with other guests.

Two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom, a dining & living room with access to the 40 m² terrace, and a laundry room. Baby cot available.
